Our client, a leading engineering and clean technology company in a rapidly growing global sector, is looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business as they continue to build on decades of experience delivering specialist engineering solutions to their clients worldwide. The Role This is a customer-facing, technically focused sales role where you'll be engaging with both new and existing clients across global markets. You’ll split your time between the office and regular international travel, attending site visits, industry exhibitions, and delivering technical presentations. Key responsibilities include: Identifying and developing new sales opportunities Delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations Supporting the negotiation of contracts in line with commercial targets Liaising closely with internal teams (Commercial, Projects, Design, and Production) to ensure a smooth handover of new orders Collaborating on the creation and development of promotional materials, website content, and exhibition displays Supporting new product ideas or development initiatives in coordination with technical departments Representing the company at exhibitions, conferences, and customer sites globally The Candidate The ideal candidate will bring a solid blend of technical understanding and commercial acumen. We’re looking for someone who: Has a background in electrical or mechanical engineering (or similar technical field) Is passionate about delivering tailored, solution-based sales Communicates clearly and confidently, both in writing and in person Can interpret technical requirements and translate them into customer-focused solutions Is confident presenting to engineering and commercial stakeholders Has experience in international sales or working in a highly technical or industrial environment (preferred but not essential) Is proactive, well-organised, and comfortable managing complex projects and sales cycles Is open to frequent international travel as part of the role You should also be: A proactive problem-solver with a commercial mindset Comfortable working across multiple departments Willing to travel internationally as required Organised, detail-focused, and capable of managing complex sales cycles The Benefits Competitive salary and performance-related bonus Opportunity to work for a recognised industry leader with a strong export market Exposure to a technically advanced product portfolio International travel and professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment
