Assembly Operative
Location: West SussexHours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (early finish Friday)Overtime: Paid at time + ½ after 40 hoursType: Temp-to-Perm
The Role
We’re working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business who are looking to add an Assembly Operative to their team due to increased workload.
This is a hands-on role focused on building mechanical assemblies using a combination of engineering drawings and pre-built “golden samples” as a guide. The work is varied but straightforward, suited to someone with a good practical mindset and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities• Assemble mechanical components using hand tools• Work from engineering drawings and sample builds• Follow clear build instructions to ensure consistency and quality• Carry out basic sealing and finishing work where required• Maintain a clean and organised working area• Support general production activities as needed
What We’re Looking For• Previous assembly or production experience preferred• Ability to read and follow basic engineering drawings• Confident using hand tools in a workshop environment• Good attention to detail and quality standards• Reliable, hands-on and willing to learn• Positive attitude and team-focused approach
