At OaKley ASN, our Play & Activity Coordinators play a vital role in creating safe, joyful, and inclusive experiences for children and young people with Additional Support Needs (ASN).
This is a hands-on, sessional role, supporting the planning and delivery of play-based activities that are child-led, nurturing, and responsive to individual needs. You’ll work as part of a supportive team to help children feel confident, valued, and able to thrive.
No previous experience is required – we provide full training, guidance, and ongoing support. We welcome applications from people with lived experience, parents, carers, students, or anyone with the right values and willingness to learn.
What you’ll do
1. Support and deliver inclusive play and activity sessions for children and young people with ASN
2. Encourage participation, confidence, and positive relationships through play
3. Help create a calm, welcoming, and safe environment for children and families
4. Work alongside colleagues to adapt activities to meet individual needs
5. Support children with transitions, routines, and emotional regulation where needed
6. Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain confidentiality at all times
7. Assist with simple session notes and day-to-day tasks
Working pattern
8. Sessional role with flexible shifts
9. Work available on weekdays and weekends
10. Weekend availability is essential, as weekend sessions are a core part of our service
11. Hours may vary week to week and are offered on a session-by-session basis
