Our client is one of the largest commercial fencing contractors in the South East of England, primarily specialising in the commercial sector.

Are you the right person for the job?
Our client is looking for a junior–mid-level Quantity Surveyor with a solid construction background and ambition to grow with a company that is expanding. To succeed in this role, you should have:
Construction site experience (essential) – fencing/landscaping is ideal, but our client is open to related sectors such as groundworks or civil engineering
HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (preferred), but they will also consider proven experience without formal qualifications
Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients, suppliers, and colleagues
Commercial awareness and some procurement knowledge
Good IT literacy – training will be provided in Bluebeam, Eque2, and Evaluate
Stable career history (2–3 years tenure minimum with previous employers)
A driving licence (preferred, required for occasional site visits)
Ideally, candidates will be within a 30-minute commute

What will your role look like?
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be primarily office-based, with occasional site visits (around once a month). Your day-to-day duties will include:
Supporting the Contracts Manager on commercial and site activities
Preparing tenders, managing drawings, procurement, and cost reviews
Monitoring compliance with contracts and driving value from the supply chain
Preparing documentation such as contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and reports
Tracking changes to design/construction work and adjusting budgets accordingly
Procuring services of contractors and subcontractors
Measuring, valuing, and billing site work
Liaising with clients, suppliers, site managers, engineers, and project managers
Sourcing construction materials
What can you expect in return?
£35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience (graduate up to £35K, experienced up to £50K)
