Are you ready to start your career in mechanical maintenance within the waste management industry? Thalia Waste Management is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for an aspiring Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (ECI)Technician at Allerton Waste Recovery Park in Knaresborough (HG5 0SD). This role provides hands-on experience in managing electrical systems while pursuing an Electrical qualification through York College.

What You Will Learn:

You will be given the skills to Install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and residential environments. Full details of the apprenticeship course can be found here:

You will spend 1 day a week at York college pursuing a Maintenance and Operations Engineering qualification. This course is designed to equip you with the technical skills and knowledge required to excel in your role.

Key Information:

* Location: Allerton Waste Recovery Park, Moor Lane, Knaresborough, HG5 0SD
* Salary: £12.21 per hour
* 37.5 hours per week (8am – 4pm) Monday – Friday
* Monday – college day
* At the end of your apprenticeship you will be offered a permanent role in Thalia’s Maintenance Team.

The Person

* A minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade 4 or above, including GCSE Higher Maths at grade 6 or above and English and science or technical subject (essential)
* For insurance purposes, we can only accept applicants who are aged 18 or over
* Happy to work in a heavily industrial environment surrounding by waste

We operate the best technology available across our four strategic sites in North Yorkshire, Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Wight. Our technology includes everything from mechanical and biological treatment, traditional mass-burn energy from waste and material recycling technologies to in-vessel composting, advanced thermal treatment, innovative small-scale energy from waste and anaerobic digestion. In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. This generates the same amount of energy as approximately 600 million solar panels. Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
