Location: Courtyard Health Clinic, Eskmills

Salary: £22,000–£25,000 per annum (depending on experience and hours)

Courtyard Health Clinic is a new private healthcare practice dedicated to providing exceptional, person-centred care in a warm and professional setting. As our clinic grows, we are seeking a welcoming and reliable Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients.

Job Summary

As Receptionist, you will be a vital part of the patient journey, the first smile they see and the voice they hear when they call. This role is key to helping people feel safe, respected, and supported. It also plays a part in upholding our duty of candour by supporting transparent, sensitive communication and signposting where needed.

Key Responsibilities

* Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally, in person and on the phone
* Manage appointment bookings and clinic diaries efficiently
* Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures with care and attention to detail
* Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in line with data protection and regulatory standards
* Respond to patient queries, provide information, and sensitively escalate concerns when appropriate
* Support clinical staff with general administrative tasks
* Receive and sort incoming calls, mail, and deliveries
* Ensure the reception and waiting areas are clean, calm, and welcoming
* Assist with basic invoicing, payments, and receipts
* Support a culture of openness and learning by recognising when patient feedback or incidents may need to be escalated
* Understand the importance of honesty, clarity, and empathy when interacting with patients, especially if something has gone wrong

Essential Requirements

* Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk, or customer service role
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a calm, reassuring manner
* Friendly, approachable personality and a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care
* Organised, dependable, and able to multitask effectively in a busy environment
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, compassion, and professionalism

Desirable

* Experience working in a healthcare or medical setting
* Familiarity with appointment scheduling software or EMR systems
* First aid certification
* Awareness of healthcare regulations or governance principles (training will be provided)
