Specialist Children's Speech and Language Therapist - £3000 Incentive


Band 6

Main area: Speech and Language Therapy. Grade Band 6. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 37.5 per week. Flexible and any hours over 22.5 per week will be considered. Job ref 270-TF604-ACS-J.

Site: Sudborough House, Kettering. Salary £38,682 - £46,580 pa pro rata. Salary period: Yearly. Closing: 09/10/2025 08:00.

Main duties of the job

Working life

As a Specialist Children's Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

* Independently manage a caseload of complex cases
* Use evidence-based and child-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention
* Provide timely S< advice, reports and programmes to be integrated within the child or young person’s daily curriculum
* Utilise technology to update records as you go

The service aims to provide an excellent standard of care that supports patients across Northamptonshire. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the service and balance clinical appointments with other responsibilities and allocate significant time for intervention in every role.

Must have skills

* Adaptable and resourceful
* Well organised, confident and able to cope in diverse situations to deliver patient care
* Leadership and management skills, strong communication, problem solving and good judgement

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in hospital settings and in the community. Many services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

Skills

* Relevant post graduate experience and CPD
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Detailed knowledge of a range of assessments and therapeutic approaches for a broad range of children
* Experience of working in one or more specialist areas


Experience

* Relevant post graduate experience including working with chosen area of specialism
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Involving parents/carers in the therapy process
* Development, delivery and evaluation of training
* In-depth experience with a range of children and therapeutic approaches
* Experience of audit and service improvement


Qualifications

* Recognised SLT Degree or equivalent
* RCSLT member
* HCPC member
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Attendance at CEN/additional training to further develop learning
