Field Based Motor Engineer – Solus – an Aviva company
Overview
We are looking for a Field Motor Engineer to be allocated in the Stoke-on-Trent or Staffordshire area. You must live within a commutable distance and be willing to travel frequently across the region while based from home. If you are an experienced and knowledgeable Motor Engineer who would like to contribute to the Solus Aviva family, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
As a Solus Aviva Motor Engineer you will preserve consistency and the very best customer service across our market‑leading business and strategic partners. Your key duties include:
* Handling all aspects of both insured and third‑party motor inspections.
* Using state‑of‑the‑art technology to receive and audit estimates before authorising repairs to our Approved Repairer Network and Customer‑Nominated Repairers.
* Maintaining constant contact with Solus sites and approved repairers to monitor performance, recognise potential areas of improvement and build strong relationships.
Qualifications
* Member of IMI, IRTE, ATA or VDA, or working towards membership.
* Motor claims knowledge, including a basic understanding of insurance principles.
* Good working knowledge of computerised damage estimating systems, including Audatex.
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Positive, self‑confident approach when dealing with customers.
* Empathy, tact, assertiveness and diplomacy in customer interactions.
* Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and use initiative when required.
* PC literate with good administrative skills.
* Willingness to take on increased ownership and responsibility as needed.
