Responsibilities
* Exercise of general professional duties and other duties as required by the school and education authority; planning and preparing courses and lessons; teaching pupils according to educational needs; setting and marking work; assessing and reporting on development, progress and attainment; providing guidance to pupils; communicating with parents; participating in meetings; and undertaking administrative tasks as required.
* Participate in arrangements for public examinations; contribute to curriculum development, pastoral arrangements, and school governance activities where applicable.
Qualifications / Professional Membership
* Hold a teaching qualification which meets the requirements for recognition to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland.
* Hold a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification prepared to teach Technology or Construction or Engineering as main subject.
* Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up post.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of teaching Technology or Construction or Engineering at Key Stage 4 to achieve positive learning outcomes (teaching practice acceptable).
* Demonstrable experience of using a range of teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of pupils.
Section 2 - Additional Essential Criteria
* Knowledge of Northern Ireland Curriculum and a range of teaching strategies to meet learning needs; interview-based assessment.
* Effective teaching and classroom management to inspire and raise achievement; interview-based assessment.
* Evidence of alignment with the School’s Values/ethos; interview-based assessment.
Section 3 - Desirable Criteria
* Minimum of one year’s demonstrable experience of teaching Technology or Construction or Engineering at Key Stage 4.
* Experience of Level 2 Engineering Qualifications; ability to offer an additional subject in Craigavon Senior High School; contribute to extra-curricular activities.
* Disclosure of criminal background and safeguarding information; enhanced disclosure if appointed; cost to be met by candidate.
