What is great about this role? The Lighthouse 4 Project delivers housing related support to people who are struggling to maintain their tenancy in the city of Newport. This is a service which supports individuals with their housing needs and issues, aiming to prevent homelessness and to ensure that these individuals maintain their home and independence. How can I make a difference? You will support, lead, and inspire your team to deliver services that enable people to better their lives and make positive choices. You will: Oversee the running of the service Be responsible for the annual budget and monitoring the service’s income Ensure that advice is given on welfare rights, permanent housing options and other associated information according to the needs and wishes of the clients. Ensure that clients receive appropriate advice Monitor the service and produce and amend procedures as appropriate Build relationships and liaise with local neighbourhoods, businesses, commissioners, and council Who are we looking for? You will have had previous experience in a support environment and have a good understanding of leadership and management. In addition you will be able to demonstrate the ability to; Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team Produce concise, accurate written reports Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with customers, staff and community partners Knowledge of homelessness issues Ability to network by working in partnership with external agencies You will need to have had previous support experience and have a good understanding of leadership and management. As a manager you will be overseeing a team of Floating Support Workers whilst liaising with other managers across Newport and the Housing Supporting Grant Team. Your collaboration and communication skills would be very important in this role.
