The Role
As Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a variety of major projects. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading mechanical design and engineering activities across multiple projects
- Providing technical guidance and oversight to project teams
- Reviewing and approving calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
- Supporting project delivery to ensure quality, programme, and budget targets are achieved
- Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers within the business
- Supporting business development and contributing to technical excellence initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating at Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer level
- Strong background within infrastructure, water, utilities, construction, or related sectors
- Experience managing mechanical design and project delivery
- Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership preferred
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
