Join Our Trust - Supporting Your Professional Growth and Well-Being

We are delighted that Alternative Learning Trust has established two provisions in the Isle of Sheppey, operating two schools within one community site. We are excited about the wealth of experience and expertise to serve our community effectively.

You will work across both Nore Academy and Estuary Academy Island, depending on the needs of each provision.

About Estuary Academy Island

Our Alternative provision, opened in September 2024, educates up to 115 students in Years 7 – 11, offering a broad curriculum including vocational qualifications and GCSEs. Our goal is to create pathways leading to further education or employment opportunities.

About Nore Academy

Opened in early 2025, it caters to young people aged 11-16 with SEMH needs and other SEN areas like ASC and communication difficulties. The first phase will include approximately 48 pupils, with plans to increase to 72 by September 2025. Many students may have been out of school and need support from dedicated staff who care about their emotional and academic growth.

Role of a SEND Mentor

The SEND Mentor works within a close-knit team to manage behaviour, promote re-engagement, model social skills, and support learning. We expect high standards and aspirational goals, with staff working within clear behavioural boundaries.
