A leading UK contractor delivering large-scale mission-critical projects is seeking a Mechanical Construction Manager to join a major data centre build in Central London. With a strong pipeline of hyperscale and technical projects, this business offers excellent career progression and long-term stability.
You will lead the on-site mechanical package through installation, testing, and handovermanaging subcontractors, programme, quality, and safety, while working closely with the project delivery and MEP teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage mechanical subcontractors across HVAC, pipework, and specialist systems
Coordinate all on-site mechanical activities with project and client teams
Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems
Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and safety plans
Monitor labour, progress, and programme milestones
Manage delivery, storage, and installation of plant and equipment
Ensure quality, compliance, and safety standards are achieved on site
Maintain strong client communication and reporting throughout the project
Candidate Requirements:
Relevant mechanical qualification (BEng, HNC, NVQ, or similar)
Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical construction management
Background in data centres, pharma, cleanrooms, or other complex projects
Strong planning, coordination, and leadership skills
Proven track record managing subcontractor teams and multiple systems
Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and compliance requirements
Based in or able to commute to Central London
Salary & Package:
