Overview
Correla is looking for a Software Engineer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract (FTC) to work as part of the SaaS team. Salary circa £60,000.
Correla was created in March 2021 to fuel innovation in the energy market and beyond. We build SaaS products and managed service solutions that simplify complex markets and deliver cost and operational efficiencies, supporting industry transformation toward a net‑zero future.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with teammates to design and implement software solutions using Python (Django) and React, ensuring reliability, scalability, and quality.
* Write clean, testable and maintainable code, support peers through code reviews and adhere to engineering standards.
* Integrate monitoring, logging and self‑healing capabilities to build reliable and observable systems.
* Work closely with product managers, designers and other engineers to align on goals and deliver features effectively.
* Identify opportunities for improvement in codebases, processes and tools, and take initiative to implement changes.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Python and Django, including API development.
* Experience building dynamic UIs with React and basic state management.
* Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and understanding of query optimisation and schema design.
* Some exposure to NoSQL databases is a bonus.
* Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues, identify root causes and deliver effective solutions.
* Excellent communication and proactive teamwork skills, with experience in a distributed environment.
* Basic experience with AWS or another cloud platform, using core services such as SNS/SQS and S3.
