ENGINEERING MANAGER Job Title: Engineering Manager Location: West Sussex Salary: £60,(Apply online only) – £75,(Apply online only) Shift: Monday – Friday (Days) Job Role of the Engineering Manager A new opportunity has become available for an Engineering Manager to join a well-established, high-spec manufacturing business operating within a technically demanding environment. The site supports complex, precision engineering projects and offers a strong platform for experienced engineers looking to lead from the front and drive performance. This role will be predominantly hands-off, with responsibility for leading and developing the engineering function, while remaining visible on the shop floor to ensure standards, performance and output are maintained. You will be responsible for managing engineering operations, driving continuous improvement and ensuring production targets, quality standards and delivery expectations are consistently met. Sector – Manufacturing (Precision Engineering / Machining) Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Manager • Strong background within a machining or manufacturing environment. • Previous experience in a leadership or management role. • Mechanical bias with a solid understanding of engineering processes. Requirements for the Engineering Manager • Experience leading and developing teams within a manufacturing or machine shop environment. • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling and KPI management. • Experience driving continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, 8D). • Ability to manage customer requirements, costings and engineering reviews. • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing processes. • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with internal teams, customers and suppliers. Desirable Requirements for the Engineering Manager • Experience within heavy industrial, foundry or metal environments. • Hands-on understanding of CNC machining processes (milling/turning). • Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO standards).
