About the role This is a Scheme Support Officer role based in our 10-bed Supported Accommodation Service, Garth Villas, Merthyr Tydfil. Alongside the Service Manager we have a team of Project Workers & Scheme Support Officers, with the service being crucial within the community to tackle homelessness. Working alongside the Project Workers, you will provide support to individuals who are homeless with a range of different behaviours & personalities. The customers may be facing various needs such as – Alcohol/substance misuse, mental health, anti-social behaviour and offending. The service gives customers an opportunity to engage in support, and gain independence in preparation to manage & sustain a future tenancy. Skills and Experience Needed Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential. More important are; A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations Full list of duties and can found on the Job description.
