About the Role
A client-facing interior design role focused on translating client vision into functional, well-resolved workplace environments. This position sits at the intersection of design, specification, and balancing creativity with commercial awareness and technical precision. The role requires both independent ownership and close collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Design Development
* Work closely with clients and project teams to define aesthetic, performance, budget, and programme requirements.
* Engage with clients to clarify project details, identify challenges, and shape design direction.
* Develop and present design concepts, space plans, and finish palettes.
* Manage the design approval process, ensuring sign-off prior to final specification.
Product Specification & Research
* Conduct detailed product research to source furniture, accessories, fabrics, and finishes aligned with budget, lead-time, and design intent.
* Liaise with vendors to obtain pricing, technical information, and manage all project-related quotations.
* Prepare detailed furniture specifications in line with approved layouts and finishes.
* Develop validation packages and supporting documentation.
Technical Delivery
* Produce and revise furniture layouts, space plans, finish palettes, specifications, and installation drawings.
* Carry out site surveys, field measurements, and inventories of existing furniture, incorporating findings into design deliverables.
* Ensure accuracy, feasibility, and compliance across all technical outputs.
Project Coordination & Delivery
* Collaborate with internal teams including sales, project management, procurement, and operations.
* Coordinate with external stakeholders such as A&D practices, contractors, and specialist consultants.
* Manage input from outsourced design service providers, ensuring clarity and accuracy of information.
* Estimate, track, and manage design hours in line with project budgets.
* Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining quality and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
* 3+ years’ experience within a dealership, A&D practice, or similar design-led environment preferred.
* Degree in Interior Design or related field; NCIDQ or CIDA accreditation advantageous.
Required Skills
* Proficiency in AutoCAD (2018+), CET required; CAP (2020) preferred.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and related design tools.
* Solid understanding of interior design principles, workplace design trends, and current industry practice.
* Knowledge of building regulations, including ADA requirements and National Electrical Code.
* Strong commercial furniture knowledge, including specification, pricing, application, and vendor ranges.
* Understanding of contract furniture workflows from specification through to installation and delivery.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
* Highly organised with strong problem-solving ability and a meticulous design eye.
* Confident presenter, able to lead client-facing design discussions in person and virtually.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
* Strong stakeholder communication skills across clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
