This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, a trusted, well-established Multidisciplinary Consultancy as they expand their UK-wide reach, renowned for their expertise across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering landscapes. They are actively seeking a driven, experienced Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, willing to take on a variety of challenging projects and leading a newly-established team, based near the ancient, vibrant city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
7. Managing the design of a wide array of engineering developments
8. Overseeing the day-to-day running of projects, including financing, resourcing, scheduling, and delivering
9. Mentoring and training colleagues throughout their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within the company
10. Managing and supporting clientele and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
11. Preparing, checking, and submitting technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, method statements, and other necessary documents
12. Adhering to and enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
13. Contributing to the company’s business development and growth, acting as a representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
14. A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
15. Hold Chartered Status
16. Demonstrable experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK consultancy setting
17. Extensive experience of working with infrastructure (drainage and highways), housing developments, and/or energy projects
18. Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
19. Highly proficient in the use of various software packages, to include Civils 3D, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar
20. Demonstrable experience of writing, correcting, and amending a variety of reports
21. Experience of managing projects and people
22. Considerable experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
23. Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
24. Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
25. Previous experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
26. Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
27. Experience of working in a public-facing role
