Durham County Council are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, passionate and committed Social Worker to deliver care for people who experience severe and/ or enduring mental health difficulties. A Social Work position within a Community Mental Health Team is a rewarding and diverse role with a great opportunity for development. Durham County Council and Tees Esk and Wear Valley Foundation Trust are integrated as part of a partnership agreement. The teams comprise of staff from the Adult Care service from Durham County Council and Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. We are keem to support qualified AMHPS or Social Workers who are interested in undertaking the training. We also have a very strong ASYE programme for Newly Qualified Social Workers as we are keen to develop our staff as we recognise that this increases positive outcomes for our community. WHAT IS INVOLVED? The Service has completed a remodel exercise which will now include social work hubs with leadership from social care/social work. The post holder will support the day-to-day operation of the Derwentside social work hub, which provides assessment, care planning, treatment and interventions for users/patients and carers referred into the Service with social care needs. The post holder will work closely with the integrated service including health colleagues to provide the best outcomes for service users. The post holder will have knowledge of commissioning, social inclusion, legal frameworks and an awareness and understanding of the emerging influences in both health and social care provision. Candidates should have mental health experience within a social care setting alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Required Qualifications: Appropriate professional social care qualification i.e. DipSW or recognised equivalent, plus Social work England Registration.
