Product Owner Role Title: Product Owner Location: Sheffield Hybrid ( 23 days onsite per week ) Contract Length: 8 months Rate: £450£500 per day (Inside IR35) Engagement: PAYE via Umbrella Industry: Banking / Financial Services Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join a large-scale banking / financial services environment. You will own the VMware virtualisation platform end to end, focusing on engineering delivery, automation, resilience, and service sustainability. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of VMware engineers Own VMware platform strategy, availability, performance, and scalability Design, operate, and improve VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, vRO, vROps) Drive automation using PowerCLI, Python, Ansible, and vRO workflows Embed SRE practices and improve platform reliability Manage lifecycle activities including upgrades, compliance, and CVE remediation Act as senior technical authority during major incidents Work closely with architecture, operations, security, and application teams Required Experience 15 years in enterprise IT, with strong VMware and distributed systems experience Proven leadership of engineering teams or PODs Experience in banking or regulated financial environments Strong automation and infrastructure engineering background Excellent stakeholder management skills
