Service Manager
Location: Wirral
Salary: £60,000 per annum (base salary)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Days Only
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Manager to join our client's team. This role is critical in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective transportation management. You will be responsible for leading the service function, overseeing operational activities, and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate daily operations across service and transport functions.

Oversee the scheduling, routing, and efficiency of transportation and logistics.

Lead, motivate, and support the service team to achieve business objectives.
*
Ensure all equipment and assets are maintained in line with safety and quality standards.
*
Monitor and improve service delivery to meet customer expectations.
*
Drive operational efficiency and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
*
Manage budgets, control costs, and optimise resource allocation.
*
Ensure compliance with health & safety, legal, and environmental requirements.
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
Skills & Experience Required
*
Previous experience as a Service Manager (preferably within the hire, plant, or equipment industry).
*
Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
*
Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
*
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
*
Strong communication and customer service focus.
*
Good understanding of compliance, H&S, and industry regulations.
*
Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively.

IT literate
