We are currently sourcing for an experienced Business Analyst to join an exciting, high-performance team on a contract basis. The contract is initially 3-months long with options of extension, outside of IR-35, and will require 4 days in the office based in Oxford. Overview An established, high-performance manufacturing organisation operating within a highly regulated, fast-paced environment is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a business-critical transformation initiative. The role will focus on end-to-end process mapping and improvement across inventory management, cost tracking, and operational-to-financial integration, with particular emphasis on regulatory compliance cost governance. This assignment is part of a high-profile programme with strong executive sponsorship and will involve close collaboration with operations, engineering, and finance functions, as well as senior leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in capturing, validating, and synthesising existing knowledge into clear, structured documentation that enables better control, visibility, and future process optimisation. Key Objectives Map current (as-is) processes across inventory, cost tracking, and related operational workflows. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and improvement opportunities. Translate complex technical and operational processes into clear, structured documentation. Support alignment between operational teams and finance stakeholders. Contribute to the foundation for future (to-be) process design and system optimisation. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end process mapping activities across manufacturing, engineering, operations, and finance. Conduct interviews and workshops with subject matter experts at all levels of the organisation. Elicit, validate, and reconcile information from multiple sources, including existing documentation and stakeholder input. Document processes using appropriate modelling techniques. Collaborate closely with ERP specialists to ensure processes align with system capabilities. Translate technical or operational detail into business-friendly language for senior stakeholders. Produce high-quality documentation, including process maps, narratives, and supporting materials. Highlight risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities. Support governance, controls, and auditability related to cost and inventory processes. Operate independently, managing workload and priorities proactively. Required Skills & Experience Extensive experience in business analysis and process mapping within complex environments. Strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial organisations. Proven experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, particularly: Finance & Operations Supply Chain Management Demonstrated ability to extract knowledge from subject matter experts and turn it into actionable documentation. Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior executives. Confident workshop facilitator and interviewer. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working in environments with ambiguity and evolving scope. Self-starter with a proactive, hands-on approach. Desirable (Not Essential) Experience within highly regulated industries. Exposure to high-performance or fast-paced operational environments. Prior involvement in large-scale ERP-enabled transformation programmes. Experience with cost governance or regulatory cost controls.
