Catering Assistant – Central Trust Required: ASAP Hours: 22.5 hours per week (10 am – 2.30 pm), Term Time Only Salary: Support Staff Scale Grade 2 (Fixed at point 3), £24,796 FTE (£13,514 pro-rata). Based at The Oaklands Primary School Summit Learning Trust Mission Statement Success through Endeavour Ambition through Challenge Strength through Diversity We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible person with an excellent approach to customer service, to provide assistance with general kitchen duties. This role also includes handling deliveries on a daily basis from suppliers and lifting and moving heavy items into storerooms. Purpose of Role: To assist the Head Chef with the preparation and service of school meals and beverages to an excellent standard, and to provide a professional impression to all visitors, parents, pupils and staff. In addition, as a member of the catering staff, to undertake a range of duties within the kitchen and any ancillary duties to support the operation of the school. Working with the Head Chef to ensure deliveries are checked and correctly stored. Work with the team of staff to assist with the food preparation for the pupil’s meals. Maintain a good working relationship with the pupils to promote healthy eating. Assist with the cleaning and clearing after each sitting. Other duties reasonable to assist the smooth operation of the Canteen. We are happy to explore flexible working, subject to the operational requirements of the role. The Oaklands Primary School is a two-form entry Primary school in Acock’s Green Birmingham.
