Senior Project Engineer – Moorings / Subsea Construction

Overview
A leading provider of mooring technology and marine project solutions is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Moorings / Subsea Construction) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves leading technical delivery and project coordination for marine and subsea construction activities, primarily focused on mooring systems and SURF for permanent offshore floating structures. Responsibilities include cost‑effective planning, tender development, engineering work package leadership, procedural documentation, and offshore execution.
Responsibilities
* Lead technical responses for project tenders related to marine and subsea construction for permanent floating structures.
* Manage individual projects of varying types and scales under the supervision of the Head of Projects.
* Deliver engineering outputs for specific projects independently or in collaboration with internal and external teams.
* Develop detailed operational procedures for offshore activities, including step‑by‑step methodologies, rigging arrangements, required equipment, and lifting plans.
* Prepare mobilisation and demobilisation plans for installation and anchor handling vessels, and supervise quayside activities.
* Create, maintain, and report on project schedules as needed.
* Attend meetings with clients and subcontractors.
* Participate actively in HIRAs and QHSE‑related activities.
* Produce scopes of work for subcontractors.
* Oversee offshore operations during the execution phase to ensure compliance with procedures and guidelines.
* Travel offshore and internationally as required by project needs.
Requirements
* Degree in an Engineering discipline.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marine or subsea construction (Moorings / SURF) within the energy industry (Oil & Gas or Renewables).
* Experience in the design and installation of permanent mooring systems for units such as FPSOs, FSOs, FSUs, FWTs, or CALM buoys.
* Demonstrated ability in developing offshore operational procedures for installation and subsea construction projects.
* Offshore execution experience on relevant projects.
* Knowledge of Orcaflex is advantageous.
* Motivated and focused, with a strong commitment to professional and team development.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities and attention to detail.
* Creative, adaptable, and capable of managing new challenges effectively.
* Collaborative team player who promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
* Possession of valid offshore certifications is advantageous.
* Willingness and ability to travel offshore and internationally as required.
