School Business Manager Grade 10 £38,220 - £41,771 pro rata Part time, 20 hours per week term time only 3 weeks Permanent Required from Monday 5th January 2026 The Governors of this popular primary school seek to appoint a dedicated, efficient and experienced School Business Manager who is wholly committed to working as part of our dedicated team. The working pattern is Monday – Friday, 8.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. 3 additional weeks across identified school holidays The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Financial Management • To have responsibility, in collaboration with the Head Teacher and governors, for the school’s finances. • To effectively manage the school’s financial systems and procedures including the School Financial Value Standard. • To ensure that all financial procedures are carried out effectively and accurately, meeting required deadlines. • To effectively and routinely access funding for our school so that children can benefit from the opportunities that this funding brings. Premises Management • To effectively liaise and communicate with the school’s Site Manager, as their designated Line Manager, to ensure that the school premises meet legal requirements and regulations and are in a good state of repair. • To effectively liaise and communicate with service contractors and personnel to ensure that school premises are in a good state of repair and meet legal requirements and regulations. Health and Safety • To be responsible for Health and Safety within the school and ensure that the Health and Safety documentation is updated regularly, including staff training, risk assessments, policies and procedures. • To effectively liaise and communicate with health and safety personnel to ensure that health and safety procedures and practices meet legal requirements and regulations. Data Protection • Undertake the role of Data Protection Officer to ensure the school is compliant and follows correct procedures relating to GDPR. • To ensure that knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations is current and up-to-date. Business Administration • To effectively manage the Single Central Record, ensuring this is updated regularly to ensure it is consistently up to date. • To efficiently complete and submit school Census returns. • To effectively maintain and update our school website in line with statutory requirements. Governance • Attend and report to Governing Body meetings when requested to do so. • Attend and guide Finance and Premises meetings. • Prepare relevant information for meetings. • Ensure regular website updates including the structure of the Governing Body and any Committees, together with the names of the governors and their particular roles and responsibilities within that structure. Promotion and Marketing • The post holder will promote an image of the school which in accordance with our school’s aims. • Responsibility for the school’s website as a marketing tool and to ensure compliance with legislation. • Manage the school website and regularly monitor its content. • Maintain a strategic overview of the school’s Facebook page. • Effectively lead the school’s marketing strategy for the promotion of the school. Calculation of term time only plus three weeks’ pay Term time only plus three additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Three additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 3 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
