Please note this advert may be closed earlier than the advertise closing date The Ancillary team at Dewsbury Hospital provides a portering service to support and maintain the high standards expected from the Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Post Room Porter to join the Trust and become part of our busy and dedicated team to support and deliver an efficient service. This is a part time position working 15 hours per week, Thurs & Fri - 08.00am - 16.00pm. Main duties Working as part of the operational portering team you will pick up and sort post to and from all areas in a timely manner. You will also be required to assist with the franking of post. You will be responsive to the requirements of the service, sensitive to patient's needs, courteous and caring to all service users. The successful applicant will undertake a number of other basic portering tasks, including assisting medical record porters and undertaking other basic portering duties. The post holder will be responsive to the requirements of the service, sensitive to patients needs, courteous and caring to all service users. The duties allocated to the Post Room Porter may be routine planned tasks or require an immediate response to meet the demands of the Trust. Key requirements Responsible for reporting incidents requiring pest control and supporting and assisting the cleaning and maintenance tasks involved with pest control. Understand, apply or provide support in emergency procedures including major alerts and fire procedures. Provide a messenger service between wards and departments. Ensure common areas are kept clean and tidy. Understand of the operation of the department to assist in its smooth running and enable them to prioritise workload. Liaise with wards/departments with booking in goods delivered directly to the areas. File all receipted/non receipted documents in the correct manner as per filing system. Marking boxes up with relevant order numbers to prepare for onward deliveries. Liaise with wards/departments and procurement about deliveries.
