The ARR Funding has created a great opportunity for a GP who is newly qualified. The post-holder must be within 2 years of completing their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and not previously have been employed as a GP in general practice. They will gain experience working within a collaborative team in Halesowen, manage a caseload and address a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients. This is a fixed‑term contract with the possibility of extension if ARRS funding continues. We are looking for someone who wants to work between 4 and 8 sessions a week.
Main duties of the job
* Make themselves available to undertake surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, clinical triage, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health‑care workers within the organisation.
* Assess the health‑care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease‑management protocols.
* Provide counselling and health education.
* Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
* Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
* Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever clinically appropriate.
* Report and act appropriately on pathology reports, read and act on all clinical letters via DOCMAN, and complete clinical audits.

We are a well‑established surgery GP practice based in Halesowen serving a practice population of approximately 8,200 patients. You will also have the opportunity to work at another local GP surgery in close proximity. We are part of the Halesowen Primary Care Network (PCN), working collaboratively with five other local practices to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
