Ward C708 is located on Level 7 of the Bristol Heart Institute and is the main ward for the Cardiac Surgery department within the Specialised Services division. The ward cares for patients requiring cardiac surgery, providing both pre-operative and post-operative care. In addition to the main inpatient beds, the ward incorporates a Day of Surgery Admission Unit, where patients are welcomed, prepared, and supported prior to their surgical procedures.
As a Ward Clerk within this unit, you will play a key role in supporting the clinical and multidisciplinary teams by providing efficient clerical and administrative support. You will be responsible for managing the ward reception, assist with admissions, discharges and patient flow.
Working in this fast-paced, highly specialised environment requires excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to liaise effectively with teams across the hospital.

We are seeking a motivated and organised Ward Clerk to join our Cardiac Surgery team. This is a key supportive role, working closely with the clinical nursing team to ensure the ward operates efficiently and provides a welcoming, well-organised environment for patients, relatives, and staff.
You will be responsible for managing the ward reception, greeting and assisting patients and visitors, and ensuring all clerical and administrative tasks are kept up to date.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and highly organised, with excellent communication skills. You will liaise with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital and work collaboratively with nursing staff to support the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
