We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Oxfordshire, who are recruiting for a Principal Contracts Solicitor to join their growing team on a 3 month (minimum) locum contract. This is a full-time (37 hours per week) position with a negotiable hourly rate and the start date is subject to notice. Office presence in Oxfordshire is required at least twice per week. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Managing a small legal team of Solicitors and monitoring/coordinating their services Handling a broad range of contracts and agreements on behalf of the Council, including business as usual supply contracts and agreements, and some construction works involving NEC & JCT contracts Advising on procurement matters, commercial contracts and subsidy control, as well as some governance matters Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and policies Providing advice on public procurement regulations and tendering processes Liaising with internal stakeholders and third-party clients in respect of contractual obligations Requirements: Management/supervisory experience Experience working in local government Extensive knowledge of contracts and procurement law Rewards and Benefits: Hybrid working Flexible working days Working hours: 37 hours per week Monday – Friday, flexible start/finish times Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
