My name is Lina, and I am the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician Team Manager in Oxford. I manage and support our technical team, including Technicians, Practitioners, Assistants, and Apprentices, providing support to clinical trial research teams across Oxfordshire.
The Clinical Trials Pharmacy team comprises Pharmacists, Technicians, Practitioners, Assistants, and Apprentices, supported by rotational staff such as student technicians and pharmacists. We work closely with research teams both within the trust and externally.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician, your role will be diverse:
1. Maintaining the supply chain of clinical trial medications to research nurses.
2. Managing financial records and drug accountability activities.
3. Closing down and archiving completed studies.
4. Facilitating meetings with sponsors.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
* Relevant Pharmacy Technician qualification (B4 and B5).
* Valid GPHC registration (B4 and B5).
* Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician accreditation (B5 only).

Job description
Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities will include:
* Applying GCP principles in clinical trial management.
* Communicating with research and pharmacy staff during trial setup and execution.
* Ensuring protocols and SOPs are followed during medication dispensing.
* Ordering, receiving, and stock-checking clinical trial drugs.
* Maintaining trial documentation and participating in audits and inspections.
* Supporting the clinical trial aseptic unit, including preparation of aseptic products, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential):
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
* Registered with the GPhC.
Experience (Essential):
* At least 2 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician in hospital or community settings.
Skills and Behaviours (Essential):
* Professionalism, team working, enthusiasm, organisational skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
Additional requirements include a DBS check and current UK registration.
