Overview
First Military Recruitment is partnering with a refrigeration business to recruit a Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep of factory plant equipment at their depot in Wrexham. This is a permanent position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform assigned work efficiently, maximizing shift effectiveness.
* Work collaboratively with maintenance, hygiene teams, and logistics.
* Support team members during breaks and absences.
* Follow all work instructions, procedures, and job descriptions.
* Complete all Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance tasks.
* Ensure proper documentation of work performed.
* Coordinate with other functions for efficient site operation.
* Meet operational targets and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
* Order spare parts and liaise with contractors as needed.
* Log parts and work details accurately.
* Provide updates to the Engineering Manager on downtime, work completed, and issues.
* Identify potential problems proactively and plan appropriate actions.
* Ensure remedial works are logged and highlighted.
* Work closely with logistics and engineering teams, ensuring smooth handovers.
* Instruct unskilled/semi-skilled personnel in equipment operations.
* Operate power tools and equipment safely.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or cold storage industries.
* Electrical qualifications or apprenticeship.
* Minimum 4 years relevant experience.
* Proficient in English (written and spoken).
* Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
* Data analysis and computer skills (Word, Excel, Windows).
Desirable Skills:
* PLC programming knowledge.
* Experience with hydraulic systems, temperature control, instrumentation.
* Welding skills.
* FLT/MEWP license.
Additional Details:
Salary: £38,300
Hours: Mon to Fri, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm + Overtime
