Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity within our Governance team at BVT. Working alongside the Company Secretary, you will help to further strengthen BVT’s governance by playing a key role in amplifying customer voices within our governance structure, supporting customer involvement in decision-making and leading on developing and coordinating BVT’s scrutiny activities across the Trust.

It’s a busy and varied position, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including customers, board members, committee members, the Executive team, and colleagues across the organisation. You’ll be able to apply your experience to help shape BVT’s scrutiny offer, support customers within BVT’s governance structure and make a meaningful impact.

Background

Our mission is to create and sustain communities where people can thrive, inspired by the legacy of our founder, George Cadbury. We honour his values while being bold and innovative to meet today’s and tomorrow’s needs.

BVT operates in Birmingham and Telford, owning and managing around 4,000 properties, alongside significant estate management, commercial, and agricultural portfolios. As a community-based organisation, we work in partnership with our stakeholders to fulfil our mission.

In recent years, we’ve undergone transformational change to build organisational strength and embed our values. We’re looking for talented, adaptable individuals who thrive in a changing and dynamic environment.

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. Our agile roles focus on professional development and well-being, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

If our mission and values resonate with you—and you meet the job and candidate profile—we’d love to hear from you.

At BVT, we offer a comprehensive reward and benefits package to support employees with healthcare, leisure, and retirement planning.

Benefits include:

* 32 days holiday (29 days annual leave + 3 days at Christmas), plus 8 statutory days
* Flexible working opportunities
* Free employee healthcare scheme (cashback for optical, dental, therapy treatments, consultations, scans, counselling sessions, 24-hour helpline)
* Trust Treats discount scheme (everyday shopping, holidays, insurance)
* Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave
* Extensive learning and development opportunities
* Life assurance at 4x annual salary

Job Profile

We are looking to recruit to a new Community Voice Co-ordinator role to amplify customer voices within our governance structure and support customer involvement in decision-making and scrutiny activities across the Trust.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading on the development and coordination of BVT’s scrutiny group meetings to ensure BVT tenants and wider customers can hold BVT to account.
* Supporting customers involved in BVT governance and community governance structures to ensure they have all the tools, information and any support needed to be effective in their roles.
* Supporting ongoing capacity building through training, guidance and one to one or group support to empower customers to be fully involved.
* Working collaboratively with other teams to identify and onboard customers to take part in governance and scrutiny activities.
* Championing equality and equity to ensure participation is inclusive, accessible and representative of the communities we serve.
* Providing clear, accessible information and updates to support customer engagement.
* Ensure resident-led managed clients can hold BVT to account for the delivery of services under the management agreements in place.
* Monitoring, evaluating and improving scrutiny and customer voice activities.
* Reporting regularly to BVT’s Executive Team, committees and the Board of Trustees.
* Ensuring compliance with RSH Consumer Standards, particularly the Transparency, Influence and Accountability Standard.

Collaborating with:

* The Community Development & Involvement team and wider teams to promote and recruit to governance and scrutiny roles
* Business Improvement and PR & Comms teams to ensure customers have access to information
