Band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner (OTAP)
Full time (36 hour) post within the
Orthopaedic Team at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our Orthopaedic team. The successful candidate will have previously developed skills and experience working within the acute and/or rehabilitative setting. The OTAP will be allocated a delegated patient caseload by the qualified OT and be expected to work independently, assessing the patients care needs and/or modifying existing treatment plans and delivering this care without supervision. This includes progressing patients, reassessing and discharging within the scope of practice.
Flexibility and experience of actively supporting patients and supervising others in an acute environment will be highly beneficial.
This post will be focused on the Trauma Orthopaedic pathway but will provide flexibly to clinical support into the Elective Orthopaedic service.
There will be a commitment to weekend working in the Occupational Therapy team at RIE as part of the 5 over 7 day working pattern.
You should have good communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Therapy Services support staff development through appraisal process, supervision and CPD opportunities.
