We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Band 7 Dietitian to work as part of a team of nine renal dietitians to provide a Specialist Renal Dietetic service at Hammersmith Hospital and its satellite dialysis units. This post is a specialist Dietetic position which requires the ability for independent dietetic work within an MDT to manage the dietetic care of patients under the West London & Renal and Transplant Centre. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, evidence-based clinical service primarily to patients undergoing dialysis at Northwick Park dialysis unit. Additionally this post covers Watford Dialysis unit and provides second cover to in and out patients at Hammersmith hospital. We are a large, high profile, friendly department involved in undergraduate & postgraduate medical training. We also facilitate placement 1, 2 and 3s for dietetic students & are involved in teaching other health professionals such as nursing & therapy colleagues. The department is forward thinking and our service delivery is very much influenced by the audits & research projects we carry out which are supported by excellent IT facilities & Quality Improvement initiatives. The department also supports robust CPD for all staff members. Main duties of the job To provide an effective highly specialist dietetic service to the Renal Dietetic service at Imperial College Healthcare Trust within the West London Renal and Transplant Service. To work in conjunction with the clinical dietetic lead in the development, delivery and evaluation of the service. This post covers primarily haemodialysis satellite work but also in-patient and outpatient work; the individual must demonstrate in-depth knowledge or experience and act as an expert within the specialist area. Person Specification EDUCATION Essential • Recognised Degree and/or postgraduate diploma. • HCPC registered (Dietitian). • Evidence of on-going CPD. • Supervisory skills training Desirable • Renal specific courses • Practice educator courses SKILLS /ABILITIES Essential • Time management/ Organisational skills • Ability to prioritise a busy workload • MDT team working experience • Computer literacy including email, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Demonstrates an awareness of diversity.
