Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils are seeking a Senior Legal Officer / Legal Executive.
Salary: Up to £39,513 per annum pro rata for part time (pay award pending)
Hours: Up to 37 hours per week, with part-time considered
We have a vacancy within the shared legal services team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, with sound judgment and flexibility. You should have good energy and enthusiasm, and a desire to join our busy in-house team handling a variety of legal work.
The role involves supporting the Head of Legal Services and Principal Solicitor, providing legal services to Malvern Hills District Council and Wychavon District Council, focusing on:
1. Property law including purchases, sales, leases, and licenses
2. Contracts for goods and services
3. Grant funding agreements
4. Simple/standard section 106 agreements and contributions
You will also assist other legal team members on various matters. Local Government experience is desirable but not essential. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse cases.
This role is based in Pershore, with travel to Malvern as needed. Salary depends on qualifications and experience. Please refer to the Job Description and Key Requirements for details.

* Degree-level education or relevant work experience

* Experience drafting legal agreements and reporting on them
Experience in local government is desirable but not essential. Candidates should have expertise in at least one of the following areas:
* Commercial Property
* Contracts and Procurement
* Local Government
* Town and Country Planning

* Clear articulation of complex legal issues both verbally and in writing
* Practical problem-solving abilities
* Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
