An opportunity is available for a Network Technician on a temporary basis for up to 6 months, subject to review, based at our Derby depot.
You will be accountable to the Team Manager for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the underground and overhead network up to 66kV. Additionally, you will be responsible for programming and monitoring immediate work colleagues, switching up to 66kV, issuing appropriate safety documentation, and performing other tasks relevant to the Technician role.
Main Responsibilities
* Network operations, including issuing Limitations of Access and Permit to Work safety documents up to 66kV
* Construction of distribution substations, overhead lines, and associated plant; installation of plant; laying and jointing cables up to 11kV
* Repair and replacement of faulty and obsolete plant, cables, and overhead lines
* Recording asset routes, details, and positions
Ideal Candidate
You should be able to work independently as part of a small team, make decisions on the spot, and possess good communication skills. A flexible attitude and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines are essential. You will also need to train as an SAP and be mobile throughout the area to undertake standby duties as part of the formal rota.
If not already attained, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 qualification.
Please note: the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are completed.
