Data Dashboard Engineer - Submarines

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Data Dashboard Engineer to join our Service Data Centre. The Rolls-Royce Submarines business is faced with once-in-a-generation opportunities for growth. Alongside this, we need to support our customer, the Royal Navy, to keep the fleet of submarines safe and operational.
The role involves working with high-quality data to support decision-making through the development of dashboards and data tools using technologies such as Cognos and PowerBI. Responsibilities include understanding business needs, implementing analysis solutions, and creating visualizations that provide meaningful insights to support the submarine fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality dashboards and reports using Cognos and PowerBI.
2. Assist the business in understanding and articulating the benefits of data reports.
3. Deconstruct and understand existing reporting requirements.
4. Advise on reporting needs and analytics.
5. Analyze, cleanse, join, and transform data to enable reliable data-driven decision-making.
6. Plan, design, test, and document data solutions, correcting errors as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Degree in Mathematics, Science, Computing, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Expertise in PowerBI, IBM Cognos Analytics, and dashboard/reporting capabilities.
* Experience working in agile teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
* Understanding of data governance, security, and storage.
* Experience with database design and SQL (desirable).
