SEND Teaching Assistant – Chatham Mainstream School
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support in a welcoming and inclusive school environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a meaningful difference in a child’s learning journey, helping them develop confidence, communication skills, and academic progress through tailored support. Contract: Full time, long term – September 2025 start
Salary: £95 - £100
Responsibilities
* Provide individualized support for students with SEND needs.
* Foster a safe and engaging learning environment that encourages confidence and independence.
* Assist with communication, sensory learning, and emotional regulation strategies.
* Work closely with teachers and specialists to implement personalized learning plans.
* Encourage social interaction and skill development.
* Adapt support strategies to help students overcome challenges and succeed.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with autism, ADHD, or additional learning needs.
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, specialists, and families.
* Ability to create a safe and engaging learning space.
* A passion for helping students succeed and feel valued.
