Renewable Energy Contracts Manager – 14‑month fixed‑term contract

What you’ll be doing
* Lead the management of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) – from tender through to delivery.
* Oversee contracts relating to behind‑the‑meter generation (e.g. solar), biomethane export and demand flexibility schemes.
* Manage Thames Water’s current PPAs, acting as the key stakeholder contact and ensuring effective operation.
* Provide ad‑hoc support to the Energy & Carbon Management team on projects that reduce energy use, costs and carbon emissions.
* Maintain robust contract monitoring, compliance, reporting and performance tracking.
* Identify opportunities to optimise agreements, mitigate risks and deliver financial and operational benefits.
Base location & working hours
Hybrid – Clearwater Court – RG1 8DB
36 hours, Monday to Friday
What you should bring to the role
Essential experience
* Proven track record in managing and delivering complex contracts, with strong knowledge of contract compliance.
* Experience in contract negotiation, including identifying financial and legal risks.
* Excellent commercial acumen, with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel/Office skills and the ability to analyse, interpret and present data clearly.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to deliver effective solutions under pressure.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Desirable experience
* Previous experience in the energy industry.
* Knowledge of energy contract management and procurement of PPAs.
* Power BI capabilities.
* Project Management qualifications.
