About the role:
A highly successful and heavily oversubscribed secondary academy in North Essex is seeking an experienced SENCO to join its leadership team. This is a senior role with responsibility for leading and developing SEND provision across the school, ensuring students with additional needs are fully supported to achieve strong outcomes.
The school is part of a well-established and forward-thinking multi-academy trust, with a strong ethos around inclusion, high expectations, and staff development. The successful candidate will work within a well-resourced specialist learning environment and alongside an experienced, supportive leadership team.
Key responsibilities:

Strategic leadership of SEND provision across KS3–KS5
*
Oversight of EHCPs, annual reviews, and statutory SEND processes
*
Working closely with SLT, teaching staff, support teams, families, and external agencies
*
Monitoring progress and outcomes for students with SEND
*
Leading and developing inclusive practice across the school
The successful candidate will have:

Significant experience working as a SENCO
*
Strong secondary school experience
*
Proven leadership and impact in SEND provision
*
Excellent knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
*
The ability to influence, support, and challenge colleagues effectively
*
QTS is strongly preferred due to the leadership nature of the role
