Qatar Airways is recruiting an Aircraft Mechanic to join our engineering team at London Heathrow.
Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks on QR or customer aircraft in accordance with maintenance data and QR/customer procedures.
* Advise and assist the Engineer on the aircraft and in technical documentation to ensure that all relevant information is entered correctly into the respective records in a timely and accurate manner.
* Ensure all health and safety issues are followed. Adhere to company HSE standards and regulations and ensure colleagues also comply.
* Ensure all equipment and tools are serviceable prior to use.
* Ensure all ground support equipment used are clean and serviceable and are returned to the original location at the end of the task.
* Examine and inspect aircraft, engines or other components for cracks, breaks or leaks.
* Service, clean, grease screens and moving parts and perform maintenance tasks on aircraft.
* Provide support in case of AOG in LHR and support operational requirements within certain regions where Qatar Airways operates. Travel to station for aircraft recovery as required.
* Perform line maintenance services for customer airlines according to the contract executed between QR and operators. Ensure customer procedures are always complied with.
* Maintain line store as per QR requirements.
Qualifications
* Relevant vocational, tertiary or trade qualification from a recognised aeronautical/technical college.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic, with at least 3 years working on modern jet aircraft.
Key Requirements
* Experience working in one or more aircraft types operated by Qatar Airways.
* In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance fundamentals with the ability to perform tasks and duties independently.
* Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong communication skills for a multicultural environment.
* Ability to work in a highly pressurized environment with high volume activities within a 24/7 shift pattern.
* Strong exposure to operational and tactical decision making with the ability to prioritize tasks sequentially.
