Play Area Maintenance Operative / Groundworker Ilkeston Full-Time | Early Finish Fridays Thorn Baker are recruiting for a Play Area Maintenance Operative / Groundworker to join a local council’s Green Spaces team based in Ilkeston. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone with experience in groundworks and play area maintenance, who takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality public spaces. Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 Friday: 07:30 – 12:30 Pay: Weeks 0–12: £12.71 per hour Weeks 13–52: £13.26 per hour Weeks 52: £13.47 per hour Duties include: Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing play areas and equipment Installing play equipment and street furniture Carrying out groundworks including mixing and laying concrete and tarmac Using hand and power tools safely and effectively Ensuring all work meets safety standards and regulations What we’re looking for: Experience in play area maintenance, groundworks, or similar Street works tickets (preferred) Abrasive wheels certification (preferred) Skilled in using hand tools and general site equipment Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team What you’ll get: Ongoing, full-time work Early finish every Friday Opportunity for long-term placement Apply now with your CV or contact Dan at Thorn Baker on for more information.
