Our client is seeking a Solutions Architect to join their diverse and inclusive team. Youll become part of a small, fast-paced, agile delivery team, using agile methodologies and DevOps techniques to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting UK Government and Defence customers. Key Responsibilities As a Solutions Architect, you will: Draft technical Statements of Requirements for cloud-native applications and platform solutions. Define and assess technical architectures and solutions. Define technical and business requirements. Produce high- and low-level technical designs. Develop high-level operating model designs. Define security controls and architecture following cloud and application security best practices. Define and select DevOps pipelines, processes, and tools. Recommend coding languages, testing strategies, and development tools. Define tools and practices to monitor and support cloud applications. Define service management practices and processes. Architect and support delivery of on-premise virtualization solutions (VMware ESX, vCenter). Architect and support IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS public cloud solutions (AWS & Azure). Develop and maintain technical architecture documentation to support security and accreditation. Candidate Specification Our clients Solutions Architects work on a variety of challenging projects, so a proactive, can-do attitude is essential. Continuous learning and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies are highly valued. You will ideally have experience in: Contemporary software engineering, including selection and application of appropriate technology and patterns. Working in teams developing full-stack solutions. Defining, installing, or supporting networking solutions. DevOps practices, including virtualization, containerization, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Engaging with senior stakeholders and willingness to travel to customer sites in the South West and London. Agile environments, using methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
