Job summary The Band 6 Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist provides expert nursing care to patients with acute and long-term respiratory conditions. The role combines advanced clinical assessment, patient education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and service improvement to support high-quality, evidence-based respiratory care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Main duties of the job Delivering high standards of care to our respiratory patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves inreach to support to inpatients in both emergency and other settings around the hospital, facilitating early discharge pathways, patient assessment, care planning and education using up to date clinical and national guidelines. The role also involves working with patients in an outpatient setting in nurse led clinics and providing ongoing support and guidance for them and their families during their patient journey.
