Offer description

DLG is evolving. Across every facet of our business, our teams are embracing new opportunities and putting customers at the heart of everything they do. By joining them, you’ll have the opportunity to not just be recognised for your skills but encouraged to build upon them and empowered to do your absolute best.

Pricing and Underwriting is a complicated world, where historical data, geospatial information, and mathematical models meet talented analysts. Pricing our products is a fine line between balancing our business goals and customer needs. That’s why our Pricers and Underwriters are the best of the best. They reduce risk and predict future events ensuring our business can continue to grow whilst each and every one of our consumers gets the best price.

Come and be part of our Churchill & Privilege Retail Pricing Team as a Pricing Analyst, helping shape great outcomes for our Home insurance customers.

What You'll Be Doing

* Develop recommendations to improve DLG’s pricing performance and longer-term pricing capability, whilst maintaining underwriting discipline.
* Provide analytical support and insight to inform and influence business decisions and strategy, with a responsibility for ensuring robustness of output.
* Plan, manage and deliver specific tasks and projects in a pro‑active, timely and accurate manner, providing insights, impacts and recommendations; lead specialised investigations, producing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
* Support the development of analysts; review work, provide feedback and create opportunities for learning in day to day activities.
* Maintain regulatory compliance, upholding governance standards and ensuring all activity meets FCA requirements.
* Collaborate across teams, sharing insights and supporting initiatives that drive pricing excellence.
* Identify opportunities for improvements to enable tasks to be performed in a more efficient manner. Challenge current processes appropriately with suggestions as to how these can be refined.

You will be heavily involved in the mentoring of more junior members of the team, helping them with their work and developing their analytical skillset. You will also be working with them to help shape their future career, identifying areas of development needed and assisting them in reaching their goals.

What You'll Need

* An effective communicator at all levels and be able to demonstrate strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A good team player but also be able to use your own initiative and be able to progress work independently.
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a general insurance analytical role or equivalent experience in another industry.
* Excellent problem solving skills, with an ability to consider multiple scenarios and anticipate outcomes for our customers.
* Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in a numerically‑focussed degree.
* Previous experience of the personal lines insurance market is desirable.
* Experience of using SQL, Tableau and RADAR ideal but not essential.
