Personal Assistant/ Buddy Ref: CSES1404 Location: Hastings Details This role is to support a Child Drivers licence required: Yes Own vehicle needed: Yes Employment status: Employed Hours per week: 4 hours per week in term time and 8 hours in the school holidays Hourly pay rate: £12.71 per hour - I’m 11 years old with a great sense of humour and love having a laugh. I have autism, hypertonia, ARFID and a genetic condition. I live at home with my mum, dad and sister in a busy and supportive family environment. I’m a full-time manual wheelchair user, but I can transfer independently. I really enjoy getting out and about, especially exploring my special interests — trains, lifts and escalators. I have a Blue Badge for parking, and ideally I’d like a Personal Assistant who can drive so we can head out on adventures together. I am PEG fed, so anyone supporting me would need appropriate training in PEG feeding and manual handling. - Duties include: - Medication prompting/administering - Personal grooming - Eating and drinking assistance - Moving and handling - Clinical tasks - Other relevant duties as required - Transportation - Companionship - Dressing / undressing - Bathroom assistance - A PA will need to completing training on PEG feeding and Moving and Handling Candidate qualities: - Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality - Reliable with good timekeeping - Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative - Hygienic, tidy and well organised - Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties - Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills - Honest and cheerful - Creative - Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard - Able to always work to high standards of health & safety Additional requirements Non-smoker due to medical reasons Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours Notes: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
