You will work within the Maintenance department to carry out the routine, proactive and reactive maintenance of machinery within the Injection Moulding manufacturing areas.
Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Your duties will include:
* Carry out regular/routine servicing on the machinery to ensure optimum performance
* Carry out safety checks on all machines on a regular basis and to ensure that all machines are maintained to comply with H&S standards
* Ensure stock of essential parts is maintained on site to reduce downtime caused by breakdowns
* Problem solve and fault find any issues in the Production department ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Your training plan
Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Level 3.
This is a 4 year apprenticeship.
Year 1 will be spent at IPS International, Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent ME2 4DU. Year 2 will be in the workplace with day release at IPS and Years 3 & 4 will be full-time in the workplace.
