We’re looking for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at Craiglockhart Campus. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires adaptability, attention to detail, and ideally, a background in catering or hospitality.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Serving meals, snacks, and refreshments to students, staff, and visitors
* Supporting a variety of events including weddings, conferences, and corporate functions
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
* Operating tills
* Preparing and serving barista-style drinks
* Ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
You’ll work a range of daily 7-hour shifts between 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. This is a 5 over 7 contract, so you may be asked to work evenings and weekends on occasion, with notice. Flexibility is key, and you may also be asked to work at other campuses to meet departmental needs.

About the Team
Our Property and Facilities team delivers a first-class service to over 1,500 staff and 15,000 students across Edinburgh Napier University. We’re committed to continuously improving our service for customers, staff, and visitors. Alongside day-to-day catering, we also support large-scale business and hospitality events throughout the year.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in catering or food service in a busy environment
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* High standards of personal hygiene and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to cover holidays, absences, and special events
* Barista training or willingness to learn
Additional Information
Grade 2 £23,350 - £26,093 + a flexibility incentive supplement of 3%
