Young People Support Worker

We have a new role available for a Part-Time Young People Support Worker to work as part of a team delivering assessment, support, and move-on services to vulnerable clients in supported or community-based accommodation.

Part-time, permanent


Hours:

30 hours a week


Salary:

£19,308 PA + pension and other benefits

The charity is currently awaiting funding confirmation for the new service.


About The Role

As a part-time Young People Support Worker, you will work under the guidance of a manager or senior worker, managing a caseload of clients and sharing responsibility for their safety and wellbeing, along with that of volunteers and staff. You will ensure that accommodation is maintained properly, support clients in sustaining their tenancy, and assist in their successful move-on process. For clients in the community, you will ensure their tenancy is secure and that they have the necessary skills and resources to manage their accommodation.


Key Responsibilities Include

* Ensure client safety, wellbeing, and adherence to safeguarding and emergency procedures.
* Conduct risk assessments, develop support plans, and provide one-to-one/group support to enhance client resilience.
* Build partnerships with local agencies while adhering to data protection protocols.
* Engage flexibly and creatively with clients, involving them in decision-making and activities.
* Assist clients in accessing education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities.
* Maintain health and safety standards, prepare accommodations for new clients, and keep accurate financial records.
* Collaborate with team members, volunteers, attend training and meetings, and ensure contract compliance.


About You

You should have experience working with young people or those affected by homelessness, an understanding of their needs, and knowledge of risk assessments, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures. Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, and a commitment to diversity and professional integrity are essential. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, work collaboratively, and reflect on practices for continuous development is also required.
