We have a vacancy within the Children and Young People’s Division (Forward Thinking Birmingham) in the East Core Team working with children, young people (age 0 to 25), carers and families. We are a welcoming and friendly team focused on working with the diverse needs that families present with. There is a staff car park on site and plenty of local amenities.
We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (eligibility for entry onto the HCPC Register of Practitioner Psychologists). This post can either be offered at a Band 8a or a Band 7 arrangement depending on experience. Applications from final year trainees are welcome.
This is an ideal post to apply your full range of psychological skills and knowledge including consultation, training, supervision, service development, leadership, and research in addition to direct clinical work.
 * Provide a range of clinical services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 * Develop and deliver complex case assessments, formulations and evidence‑based interventions for individuals and groups.
 * Work with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs, including diverse BAME communities and those in high socioeconomic deprivation.
 * Engage in service innovation, research and teaching activities built into your job plan.
 * Progress towards leadership roles within the service.
We have an established track record in service innovation supporting a diverse range of clinical and academic interests, with time for research and teaching activities built into many of our psychological professions job plans. There are clear career paths for psychologists in the service and we are committed to your development through training and supervision.
